Hello, friends. Last weekend me and a few friends took a bus to Granada, a city in the Andalucia region of Spain (southeast from Alicante). It's famous for Flamenco, tapas bars, and the Alhambra castle. Isn't the view amazing? We spent about 6 hours at the Alhambra because there was so much to see. I loved looking at the views...palm trees and city in the foreground, snow-capped Sierra Nevadas in the background. Wonderful! I would go back in a second.
I found an apartment! My friends Katie, Nick, and I were walking along last Thursday night trying to get ideas of where we'd like to live in the city. We started calling every "for rent" number we saw on signs, but didn't get any good results. Earlier this week, we spent hours searching the papers and calling various places, but we didn't find anything that we really liked. BUT, we got a call back from an agency we had called last Thursday and the man happened to have an apartment in the exact location we were hoping for. It's clean, it's cheap, 5 minutes from the beach, it's got great views of the castle from the balconies--it's perfect! We move in this Saturday!
The last day of our intensive spanish course is Friday, then we have a week off before our regular university classes start. I think I'm going to Germany with a few friends during our week off. We would prefer to go somewhere warmer, say Morrocco, but we found really cheap flights to Frankfurt. So, if anybody has any reccommendations on where to go and what to do in Germany, let me know! I think we are definetely hitting up Berlin, but everything else is up in the air.
Abrazos,
Hannah
